You should run if Kate Somerville, one of the Hollywood legend’s terms, releases a new skincare product. We did precisely that when we learned about the Exfolikate(tm) Resurfacing Body Scrub, which costs $56 and is a #ForBody version of her popular facial Exfoliator. The exfoliating scrub is easy to use and leaves skin soft and smooth. We have our complete review.
What is it? A three-purpose exfoliator (chemical, physical, and enzymatic) that removes dead skin cells and gives you soft, smooth skin.
Why it is iconic: The brainiacs at Kate Somerville gave people what they wanted, a body version of their Intensive Exfoliating Therapy for $98, also known as their famous facial Exfoliator.
What it does. Sloughs off flaky skin cells with three exfoliators (more details later). Aloe vera and honey are rich in antioxidants. Caffeine refreshes the skin, while soybean oil keeps its moisture barrier strong.
The scrubs: Tiny pumice removes stubborn skin patches while lactic acid and salicylic acids (pineapple and papaya) polish, brighten, and exfoliate the skin’s outermost layers.
Use it: Massage a dime-sized amount onto damp skin for 30 seconds. Let it sit for three minutes. Follow with a moisturizing body lotion. Rinse. Use it whenever your skin needs it (up to 3 times per week).
What we loved: The formula is gentle and doesn’t feel too rough or harsh on the skin, which is significant plus considering it contains pumice. It is easy to apply and removes any dead skin.
Let’s take a look at the packaging for a moment. The fact that it’s a squeeze-and-scrub situation makes it so easy to apply just the *correct* amount of product onto the targeted areas without it dropping onto the floor (#SugarScrubProblems). This allows you to save time, money, and peace of mind.
What we didn’t like: We loved it. It’s a hard no for us.
The bottom line is This three-in-1 Exfoliator delivers all its promises! The thoughtful packaging is worthy of praise, but we are most impressed by the gentle yet effective formula that reveals baby-soft skin almost immediately. BRB, we sent Kate Somerville a note of appreciation.
